IT
IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT THE TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT BE CONTACTED PRIOR TO THE USE OF MOXIE
1800 SUPER-ADMIX.
RATE/USE: 15 oz. per 94 lb sack, 16 oz. per 100 lb, .16 oz per lb, 1.6
oz per 10 lb of portland cement for use in, stucco, plaster or shotcrete applications. For
example when mixing TWO 94 lb bags of portland cement or cement/sand pre-mix in the mixing
drum or container, use 30 ounces of MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX. Reduce the amount of water
used by this same amount. Water may be further reduced by approximately 10% to 15%. When
using a 100 lb bag of portland cement use 16 oz of MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX per bag. It is
recommended to use MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX in the scratch, brown and color coats for
stucco. Suitable for "ONE COAT" stucco processes, "wet" shotcrete,
plaster and pool plaster systems.
PROCEDURE:
1) Start with a clean mixing drum or container, clean as usual thereafter.
2) Add the proper dosage of MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX to A MINIMUM OF 20%, UP to 100% OF
THE MIX WATER to be used, to the mixing drum or container.
3) Rotate the mixing drum or mix thoroughly for approximately 30 revolutions or 2-3 minutes,
only to insure adequate mixing (ASTM C94).
4) Add the dry cement and sand and the remaining amount of water. Deduct the quantity of MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX used fron the total quantity
of water used.
5) Mix thoroughly for approximately 15 minutes, 70-100
revolutions, at no less than 4 rpm, before use as
called for in standard ready mixed practices. THIS TIME IS NOT IN
ADDITION TO THE STANDARD MIXING TIME.
6) Wash mixing container or drum out as usual. Clean up is much easier
It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
that these directions are followed in EXACT SEQUENCE
in order to obtain the maximum benefits and results. MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX is
clear, odorless, non-toxic, and is not detrimental to the equipment, including the mixing
drum. Clean-up of tools and equipment is easier. It is not
recommended to use any latex densifying, accelerating, air-entraining, finishing,
plasticizers, pumping-quality, dustproofing compounds, efflorescence inhibitors, or water
reducing admixtures. If any other admixture is specified, mix separately and start
with HALF THE NORMAL DOSAGE of the other admixture manufacturers recommended
dosage, adjust accordingly. If ambient temperature exceeds 85oF or 80% relative
humidity, a retarder may be used.
ON SITE CONDITIONS
1) CURING: MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX
IS AN INTEGRAL CURING COMPOUND which restricts
the loss of water to that of a membrane forming curing compound. Do
not use any curing compounds, DO NOT CURE BY FLOODING WITH WATER. Flooding with water will
cause shrinkage cracking. Fog mist only with water if necessary if temperature
exceeds 85oF.
2) TEMPERATURE: If ambient temperature drops below 50oF rotate mixer an
additional 4 - 5 min. at mix speed, on-site, prior to troweling. MOXIE Fastset50
Accelerator, a non-chloride, set accelerator may be used to reduce set time up to 50
percent at maximum dosage. Consult the Fastset50 Accelerator cut sheet or
MOXIE International for proper dosage.
3) SLUMP: Maximum benefits have been achieved maintaining
a 3" to 3½" slump.
4) WORKABILITY: Stucco will appear to be dry, however it will have the
workability and finishing characteristics of stucco which is more fluid.
5) LOSS: Due to the cohesive nature of MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX, there should be
no loss from troweling. Any loss from troweling indicates excessive water. Reduce the
amount of water.
6) CLEAN-UP: Tools and equipment clean-up is much easier.
7) SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: If there are any additional or special requirements
please contact Technical Services.
