Dear Ms. Davis:
A short note to inform you of the success we had with the "MOXIE 1800 ADMIX"
product used in June through August of 1992, on the Pacific Sea Food project, located in
Long Beach, California. The project's scope was to build a 2,000 square foot blast (40
degrees below zero) freezer, 6,000 sq. ft. standard storage freezer, and a 650 sq. ft.
cooler within an existing concrete tilt up warehouse building.
The plan was to remove the existing concrete floor under the proposed freezer areas, and
install required heating elements to protect the freezer floors from heaving. The problem
was how or what will protect the newly poured concrete freezer floors, that were placed
over the heating elements. After reviewing several options, from fiber particles to
various other admixes,
This office, with the owner, selected "MOXIE 1800 ADMIX". I am very happy
with the out come.
First application was the same as standard concrete and afterward there were no
shrinkage cracks (that plague many slab pours) in the 3 inch thick sub-floor, nor in the 6
inch thick finished floor.
Second the concrete slab floors in both the blast freezer and the standard freezer
are holding up fine, in the 40 degrees below zero temperature of the blast freezer as well
as in the standard freezer temperature.
Third with, the "MOXIE 1800 ADMIX", the concrete slab floors are
permanently sealed down though the entire slab, preventing any water from penetrating the
floor and damaging it by expanding below the surface. Thus even should the slab wear
thinner, in time, it will still be protected by the "MOXIE 1800 ADMIX" that was
homogeneously mixed throughout the thickness of the concrete when the slabs were poured.
Thank you once again for developing a product that does what it is supposed to do.
