Basic Use:

MOXIE FASTSET50 ACCELERATOR is a non-chloride, set accelerating admixture specifically formulated for use with MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX. Suitable for use in sub-freezing temperatures or when accelerated concrete set times are required. Low dosage requirements produce an economical set accelerator which outperforms calcium chloride and salts of sodium without corrosive qualities. Adhesion characteristics of the concrete surface are unaffected, providing a surface dry condition necessary for coatings, paint or floor coverings. Ideal for use with stucco, shotcrete, mortar and white portland cement pool plaster applications.

MOXIE FASTSET50 ACCELERATOR is a non-chloride, set accelerating admixture. Formulated for use in sub-freezing applications down to 80 F, or when accelerated concrete set times are necessary or desirable. Provides protection against freezing during the critical three day period in cold weather. Designed to be mixed with MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX prior to final batching.

Limitations:

MOXIE FASTSET50 ACCELERATOR is specifically formulated to be used with MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX. Do not use as a single component. When used with other specified admixtures, each must be dispensed separately. Start with half of the appropriate manufacturer’s recommended dosage. Mixing should continue for at least 15 minutes before placing, ASTM C94 - Specifications for Ready Mix.

Physical Characteristics

Dosage:

MOXIE FASTSET50 ACCELERATOR should be added to MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX at a maximum rate of 5 percent by weight, (7.26 oz by weight) per gallon of MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX. Liquid quantity will be approximately 6.4 liquid ounces (189.44ml) per gallon of MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX at maximum dosage. Mix thoroughly prior to use. Slight white flake precipitate may appear and will dissolve permanently upon re-mixing. Maximum dosage will decrease set time by approximately 50% at 50⁰ F. Sub-freezing ambient temperatures may require hot or boiling water in addition to MOXIE FASTSET50 ACCELERATOR. Maintain no lower than 50⁰ F concrete temperature at placement. Other temperatures and concrete temperatures may vary set times. Do not exceed maximum dosage. Field testing should be performed prior to actual use. Comply with the dosage requirements of MOXIE 1800 SUPER-ADMIX at the recommended 10 ounces per 94 pound sack of portland cement, or 15 to 20 ounces per sack for grout, mortar, stucco, shotcrete, or a higher performance dosage. Include any cementitious materials such as fly ash in the calculation. Consult the 'Batch Plant Instructions' or a MOXIE International Technical Representative for specific details.
