has provided recommendations for the use of Moxie concrete additives for
concrete slabs-on-grade for the proposed project.
As was noted in our previous letter, Moxie 1800 has been used in
concrete slabs-on-grade with no visquene moisture barrier placed below the slab with no
noted problems in our building for the past 5 years.
Youngdahl & Associates, Inc. has been recommending the use
of Moxie products both during the placement and as corrective measures for approximately
the past 12 years. It is our opinion that
these products produce a superior moisture resistant concrete slab-on-grade. In over a hundred slabs where this product has been utilized based on our
recommendations, we have never experienced moisture migration through the treated slab.
We have not performed investigatory coring in any floors in which a
Moxie product was utilized, therefore, we do not have data resulting from these type of
operations. Typically coring would only follow a failure and since we know of no failures
we have not experience this type of situation.
